"The best way to strengthen a feeble mind is to have a sense of purpose a calling beyond oneself. This piece was apart of a drawing series I did. I used drawing as a way to cope with my OCD, depression and anxiety and distract me from the things going on around me. During this period I was struggling to leave my house and go places. I used drawing as a way to go to parks or sit outside and mindfully engage my brain. Each piece I would start out with a select color palette that I felt matched my emotions for that day. I then would allow each piece to form into its own composition. After this I would reflect on the piece and find a sense of relief from my compulsions. When creating this piece, I was inspired by earthy colors and the idea of being fully grounded in the present moment."
