Be Still

"Be Still is part of my summer 2020 collection. This collection was inspired by the early days of COVID lockdown. I felt called to think about what gifts the enforced pause might offer -- time to spend with family, time to enjoy nature, time to pray and connect with our faith. Be Still's macro-view of flowers and flora entices us to pause and get close, appreciate the intricacy of detail, and be present. I wrote a number of short poems to go with the paintings of this collection. This one was presented with this painting: What calms your mind Quiets your heart And lightens your soul? Take a breath. Decompress. Your mind, your body, your soul deserve it."
