"Amythest Spears speaks to my love of Nature, including the many tropical plants that live in my yard in Largo, Florida. Fortunately, they are pretty self-sufficient, adapting well to Florida's changes in weather. These are very abstract, reminding me of agave or yucca or certain tropical succulents that are common here. Shades of purple are quite common in some of our native plants, as are green and blue green. In painting with fluid inks I really almost never use brushes, but I've learned to manipulate the ink while wet with various household objects I find useful."
