2 in 1

"This series of work is based off of the Fibonacci spiral or mathematical sequence. In mathematics, the Fibonacci sequence is a sequence in which each number is the sum of the two preceding ones. This sequence is related to the golden ratio. When repeated, it creates a never ending spiral (one that will not collapse in on itself) and is the foundation of fractals which are used in sacred geometry (aka the geometry of consciousness). Each painting in this series holds at least one (but most have 2-4) spirals somewhere inside of it that I created using a ruler and the correct mathematics. I let the spirals guide the paintings to unfold the way the spirals wanted them to. This piece has 1 spiral inside it, but as I painted, the spiral unfolded a symbol resembling the number 2. The number 2 often represents balance, which made me think of yin and yang. So, the message I received here is where duality or 2 parts make up 1 whole. Or 2 in 1."
