How AIS and ArtLifting Are Reimagining the Design Showroom

AIS is a leader in workplace furniture solutions that balance design, performance, and value. Through both in-house product development and collaborations with leading designers, AIS brings a range of perspectives to the workplace. Its showrooms help architects, designers, workplace decision-makers, and corporate clients explore ideas, discover new possibilities, and experience inspiring spaces.

ArtLifting artists help tell and elevate that story.

AIS and ArtLifting are strategic partners in disability inclusion and social impact. AIS operates the Radiance program, which supports adults with disabilities. ArtLifting offers a natural sister program by making these inclusive values visible in AIS showrooms.

"As designers, we strive to create spaces that do more than showcase products – they bring people together, spark conversation, and foster a sense of belonging. The artwork from ArtLifting was an integral part of that vision, adding warmth, authenticity, and humanity throughout the showroom. Great workplaces are built around people. By weaving those stories into our space, we created a showroom that feels more connected and where diverse perspectives are seen, valued and celebrated."

- Megan Knust, Senior Manager – Materials & Applications, AIS

The showroom program began with a pilot at a key design hub. From that single location, the partnership is steadily expanding to all AIS showrooms. Through ArtLifting rotation programs, AIS receives custom-curated collections aligned with showroom refreshes, branding, community connections, and localization efforts.

ArtLifting provides turnkey fulfillment and installation, making it easy for AIS to plan every refresh and implement storytelling initiatives.

That rollout is already visible in AIS's new Chicago showroom at THE MART, where President and CEO Nick Haritos watched the installation come together:

"During the design process for our new showroom in Chicago, I was able to see the progress via photorealistic rendering. Seeing the space in person was more impressive, and the addition of the ArtLifting installation took it to another level. The ArtLifting team's elegant pieces blended beautifully into our design and, most importantly, with purpose. We are delighted to be an ArtLifting partner."

Territory managers who work in the showrooms every day describe the same effect:

"Having the ArtLifting prints installed throughout our showroom is a wonderful and meaningful addition to the space. The story behind ArtLifting is a natural fit with the AIS culture and what makes us uniquely different. The person behind the paintbrush is what gives each piece its meaning and makes the artwork so impactful."

- Brett F. Stortz, Senior Territory Manager, Illinois & Wisconsin, AIS

"The ArtLifting pieces throughout our showroom add personality, emotion, and a sense of connection that our customers genuinely appreciate as they move through the space. It's a privilege to showcase artwork that not only makes our showroom more beautiful but also tells a story of creativity, inclusion, and purpose."

- Mallory Hanrahan, Senior Territory Manager, Illinois & Wisconsin, AIS

Our partnership runs deeper than the artwork on the walls.

While ArtLifting provides the curated rotations, installation, and storytelling, the collaboration extends further — activating client referrals, engaging the AIS team, and folding ArtLifting into AIS's messaging.

Because the program is built around rotation, its impact compounds as it scales while maintaining flexibility: each rotation brings a fresh set of artists into AIS's showrooms, expanding the visual and social impact.
