Key Takeaways

  • Webster Five introduced an art rotation program and a custom wallcovering in the redesigned branch to bring the bank’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging) commitments to life through a more inclusive, welcoming, and community-centered environment.
  • The art programs celebrate both local connections and the talents of artists with non-apparent or invisible disabilities.
“The artwork rotation and permanent pieces we've incorporated into our branch with ArtLifting have been powerful examples of how collaboration can drive community impact. This partnership has enabled us to support disabled artists by extending the reach of their work, while also creating a more welcoming and engaging environment for our customers and employees.”

Bringing Inclusive Art to Webster Five’s Auburn Branch

Webster Five Bank partnered with ArtLifting to bring the bank’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging) commitments to life in their physical spaces. The goal of the art program celebrates how uniqueness contributes to something stronger when brought together — using art as a visible expression of inclusion and shared values.

Webster Five centered the project on two guiding themes: celebrating local artists and acknowledging non-apparent or invisible disabilities to help employees and community members feel seen and valued. The bank sought a light, bright, colorful, and on-brand aesthetic while prioritizing artists from across Massachusetts, with an emphasis on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists and a range of creative practices.

The installation includes an art rotation program featuring four artworks displayed publicly throughout the branch. In the vestibule, visitors are welcomed by Hidden Dots, a wallcovering by ArtLifting artist Selah Rose, which sets an inviting tone and reinforces the branch’s commitment to inclusion from the moment guests arrive.

To celebrate the collaboration, Selah attended the ribbon-cutting event with the Webster Five community. During the event, attendees were gifted custom totes, featuring Hidden Dots, an artwork licensed by the branch to bring their art investment to life.

For Selah, the opportunity represents both professional recognition and meaningful impact. This was the first time Selah saw her artwork presented in large scale as a wallcovering, demonstrating the limitless possibilities her partnership with ArtLifting provides her artistic career.

“Having my artwork displayed at Webster Five is an incredible honor. It means the world to know that my creative voice is being seen and valued by the community. This opportunity not only affirms my work as an artist but also makes a meaningful difference in my life and helps support my family. I’m deeply grateful.”

1. Banner: Large wallcovering Hidden Dots, by Selah Rose, features fluid, marbled patterns in shades of green and blue. The swirls resemble watercolor or ink with a translucent quality. Small informational posters are mounted on the mural. The wall is adjacent to a glass entrance with metal framing, letting in sunlight that casts shadows on the floor.

3. Field of Blooms by Mia Brown. An abstract painting with loose, brushstroke-like forms in green, blue, and purple. The strokes overlap and blend across a white background. The piece is framed and hangs on a wall next to a window showing outdoor greenery. A desk with light wood grain and two chairs are in the office.

4. Large Mosaic CA Scape by Christina Constantine. A large rectangular artwork with wavy rows of checkerboard patterns in various colors, including red, blue, yellow, green, and purple. Each row has a slightly different pattern and color variation. The piece is framed and mounted on a white wall. A wooden desk, black office chair, and wooden chair with a cushion are in the room.

5. Beacon by Jeff Powers a colorful geometric artwork with overlapping circular shapes in gradients of blue, green, yellow, and red. Framed piece hangs beside a window in a small office with a wood desk and a black chair.
