Key Takeaways

  • Original artwork helped transform clinical reception spaces into calming, spa-like environments that align with Swedish’s vision of patient-centered care and healing.

“The pride of being able to provide for my family with my art makes me feel so hopeful.  My daughter has been referring to me as an artist this year, and now I feel like it has been further validated by this process of making a sale.  My family is so happy for me.  This all feels so surreal.  Smiling and feeling this infinite warmth of doing something that truly feels like an expression of myself and being rewarded for it is incomparable.”

Designing a First Impression

In 2024, Swedish Plastics & Aesthetics partnered with ArtLifting to bring high-quality original artwork by talented artists with disabilities to their medical and med spa clinic in Seattle, WA.

To create a calming, high-end spa atmosphere, Swedish invested in five original artworks by three artists for their reception areas. The artworks elevate the design and feel of the clinic, while connecting deeply with patients through the artists’ stories. This point of connection was particularly important in the cancer care wing, where the artists’ healing journeys are front and center, offering comfort and deepening the emotional resonance of the patient experience.

The thoughtful investment generated nearly $20,000 in income for ArtLifting artists. For the artists, this project is a powerful affirmation of their creative value and visibility in a place dedicated to care and restoration.
