Jefuri
Burlington, VT
“We can violently clear away acres of forest to appreciate trees on the other side of the hill; or behold the beauty of what is most immediate, right here in the moment.”
Jefuri describes being most inspired by inner stillness and being absorbed in ordinary moments. Art allows him to exist in a timeless, tranquil, and awe-inspiring realm. Despite experiencing homelessness and a disability, he is driven to create in times of hardship. He lives in Burlington, Vermont, and hopes to be able to live, work, and nurture himself with art.
Jefuri has experimented with many artistic mediums. Currently, he mostly works in the encaustic medium which traditionally incorporates beeswax and damar resin. His creative process brings him to a placid place where he is thoroughly absorbed in the experience.
Jefuri’s practice is to “...reduce resistance to the world to see the simplicity and paradoxical magic in all things. This increases my joy. I do my best to see everything this way, including my art. Things are faulted - perfectly faulted. This perfect imperfection can be seen when I see without resistance.” His artwork is his invitation to the viewer to enter this timeless realm.
“Art is my motivation to live.
Art is my motivation for wholeness, oneness, and wellness.
Art is a gateway for transcending myself.
Art is the autobahn to transformation.
Art is a way to connect with Source.
Art is a magical entry point into the infinite.”
