Enhancing the Terminal Experience Through Local Art and Sustainable Design
ArtLifting partnered with Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) in Gypsum, Colorado, to enhance the terminal environment with a two-part art initiative: a rotating print reproduction program and a large-scale wallcovering installation. This initiative was designed to add color to EGE’s neutral interiors while embracing natural elements, western motifs, and themes of flight and travel. The artwork rotation program brings an evolving visual experience to the terminal, offering passengers fresh perspectives and variety over time. By introducing change into a space often experienced repeatedly by locals and frequent flyers, EGE commits to creating an engaging, dynamic environment that feels both welcoming and new on every visit.
Complementing the rotation is a striking, over 300-square-foot wallcovering that serves as an anchor point within the terminal. This large-scale installation uses sustainable materials and reinforces EGE’s values of personal comfort, community partnership, and environmental stewardship. Together, the rotation and the wallcovering encourage moments of pause and reflection within a busy regional transportation hub, while celebrating Colorado’s natural landscape and culture.
