"When kites fly came about when I started doing textures on three canvases until I was satisfied with the outcome, that was phase one, not knowing what came next I just took a paint marker let my hands be free. Then I decided to color the shapes in. Stepping back and looking through the canvases with child like eyes and a happy soul, the shapes and colors kind of reminded me of flying kites when I was a child growing up in Michigan during the spring and autumn seasons."
