"This piece is a part of a small series of black and white paintings I created, which is a significant departure from my usually vibrant and colorful work. I wanted to explore limiting myself to only these hues. I feel the limiting nature of only using these colors is an analogy for how I feel depression stifles me; but I also think beauty has come from it, and I feel a special connection to these black and white pieces."
