"A circle is symmetrically bisected by a vertical parallelogram, and an inset plane appears to advance as a
square tilted on its side, which optically flips into a diamond shape. These three geometric shapes all
change color where they intersect and overlap, creating colors relating to their symmetrical placements, and
emphasizing a transparent alchemy between them. Dated 03.31.22.
Geometry is often canonized as static, fixed, oppressive, but the central circle in this piece, and its
centrifugal reference--as base for a spinning rotation--lends this piece a sense of dynamism in a twisting
way. This is just one example of how geometry can optically insinuate dance-like motion, whether it be
twisting, spinning or turning on an axis. The tension in the piece is therefore not just between two
dimensional forms, but through the optical suggestion of the stable, two-dimensional doubling as a
three-dimensional, moving force: the strength of form mirrored in their co-existence."
