This is actually made from two lines if you break it down. Note how the space between the knot lines - the negative space - creates a yellow ring buried deep in the knot.

Starting with pencil lines, I used Indian ink to line the work. Then I added the webbing - the wee bits of dirt in each corner where lines cross. Then watercolor."
