Surface Detail #6

"Creating personal iconography in my artworks has always been a passion of mine. Using imagery with a strong presence that is open to interpretation encourages viewers to bring their own experiences and perspectives to the work.
In this work, I interweave rope into my iconography as a symbol of strength. It’s the material that has been used to construct bridges, scale mountains, and navigate treacherous waters. I use rope as a reminder that we are all capable of overcoming obstacles, no matter how formidable."
