"I believe that many artists have a preferred colour palette, and I certainly do. I find myself consistently attracted to shades of magenta, pink, purple, and teal. For this painting, part of my Blossom Series, I chose to step outside my comfort zone and incorporate blues and greens. Applying acrylic paint and mediums in different layers creates depth in the painting. These hues were inspired by the hydrangea bushes that adorn the coastal roads of West Cork. Although they may be referred to as "wild," they are actually garden plants that have thrived in the wild."
