"Meditation in Motion is an exploration of colors and form.
I had a general idea of what colors I wanted to use. The plum and bright reds were the first.
The rest took shape organically as I gave myself permission to explore this space. I like to think my paintbrush is making footsteps across the canvas. Every brush stroke is created with the intent to generate "motion" with a cascade of colors. It feels like I'm exploring movement with every color and every brush stroke. It starts with round brush and one color, creating new "trails" and color cascades one section at a time.
I "walk" my brush strokes forward, one at a time, taking care to keep my brush strokes as uniform as possible - making only subtle shifts in my handling of the brush.
This one took the longest to create - with wide stretches of time in between. I need to be able to "feel" the brush between my fingers. This means being able to accurately predict how much paint is absorbed in the bristles; how much is left after every single brush stroke; how the brush and paint will react with every subtle shift."
