"This piece reflects on finding small moments of joy to survive living with grief. Grief is a persistent and pervasive part of living with chronic illness, due to systemic ableism and inadequate healthcare in the US. This experience is reflected through the use of bright, hypersaturated colors contrasted with deep grays and blues. Picking flowers, lingering outside while the sun sets, or cooking a meal with a friend are all things that bring me joy through hard moments and help me fill my cup."
