"We live near tide pools. I love them, but this year haven’t been able to get to them since winter. In winter, I went during the low tide, near dusk. Surrounding the tide pools were near-fields of clamshells, mostly mussels. I realized when I got very up close, flat on the ground, really, low winter sun—which really blazes—illuminated them amazingly. Bright reflection of the grooves and a kaleidoscope of colors. Collage with tide pool images as well."
