Getting All the Words Wrong But Not Giving a Damn
"Every time I paint, it's a surprise. You never know if they will test you, play along, take it slow, or flow like a raging river!! Sometimes what you think will be an underlayer is too good to cover, and sometimes it takes so many layered iterations before you love it. This particular piece had both! The mark-making in the piece feels so free and easy, and I LOVE it when that happens. A slightly more muted palette gives this painting a happy, content feeling, with some whimsy from the bold pattern and marks."
