"Calm is a reflection of the feelings I get laying under trees on the grass and looking up at the sky. It's how I feel on gray stormy days, when others may feel depressed; I feel calm, peace, and serenity. For this piece, I painted with sponges to create a softer painting with fewer colors than is typical for me."
