"Verve Unfiltered features my signature swirls. Expressing a combination of grit and grace, these pieces are not afraid to show their rawness underneath layers of refined shapes. These pieces feature beautiful, organic results when varying paint consistencies, painting techniques and tools (an 8” wide house-paint brush, a 28” long home-made brush or a wheelchair wheel) collide. As a result, there is a juxtaposition of contrasts within one piece. Graceful, round brushstrokes may be painted near straight grid-like drip patterns or track marks. Freely splattered paint (a reflection of letting go) may be layered over defined swirls."
