Balance
"The materials for Balance was funded by the large works grant and created throughout 2025. The brushwork used in this piece was possible after months of physical therapy work; I consider this piece a triumph over progressive physical symptoms, combining my love of Japanese technique with sumi and a play on monochromatic texture. The matte background in acrylic was added last, built around the sheen of the resin in the sumi."
