Tierza was raised in a small village in Michigan and uses art as a way to escape the fear and chaos around her. Living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Tierza says she feels compelled to put beauty where there is none in her personal life. Tierza shares, "As a female, every piece I make has a tender place in my heart. I feel like I gave birth to something that has a life of its own."
She creates art every day on a kitchen table that she refashioned to hold her art supplies and suit her creative needs. On making art, Tierza expresses, "I love the meaning people find in the organic shapes and strokes I make. Sometimes they differ from my own, but the feelings this brings me are pure joy."
