Vanessa Ortiz was born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca. She loves city lights and the rich diversity of her hometown. Ortiz has been making artwork since her childhood but her maturity as an artist came later as an adult. Vanessa produces her artwork in Culver City.
Ortiz uses an adaptive grip tool that helps her hold her brush. She loves creating thick and very colorful painting pieces. Vanessa primarily works with acrylic paint. Her art and her choices in color is a reflection of her outgoing personality. Vanessa’s art practice embodies the heart of the color field painters like Rothko or Frankenthaler using solid colors spread across a flat picture plane.
