"Part of a series of sensory exploration, "Elation" to me is the very essence of what it means to feel "uplifted". Very much like the literal feeling of taking flight for the first time, and the sense of surreal wonderment felt from viewing the curve of the earth from above the clouds."

"It is a very touching moment to actually meet the person who wants to have a piece of your artwork be a part of their homes. It's such a good feeling. Artists are always our own hardest critics. Being appreciated that way is truly uplifting."
Kitty Zen is a self-taught multimedia artist and humanitarian advocate based in Boston. As someone who has experienced PTSD, Kitty uses her artwork and gifts of self-expression to stay mindful and outgoing in an ever-expanding, fast-paced and awesome universe. Her connection to a larger, universal human experience is key in her life and in her art. She expresses this connection in multidimensional visual elements, dreamy abstract features, and interpretive imagery influenced by outer space.
Kitty uses her art to support herself, having started selling her art while homeless as a young adult. Kitty has grown into a professional artist, advocate, and activist, choosing to focus on issues of youth and family homelessness as well as harm reduction and prevention.
