"I am doing something right and something positive now. It makes a big difference."
Ed was born and raised in New Orleans and experienced homelessness after losing his home in Hurricane Katrina. Having previously struggled with substance abuse, Ed takes pride in his sobriety.
"Art helps me stay sober. It’s relaxing, fun, and good therapy. It makes me feel good. I have to be inspired to feel good.”
Ed has been painting and drawing for 50 years. He wants to sell his art so he can “buy art supplies and save money.” When asked about his unique style, Ed says, “I like to see what I create. I use my imagination to create something different from everyone else. I like to have my own style and technique to do things.”
