West Cork 2
"The Irish countryside is undeniably green. It was only when I was returning to Ireland after my first trip away and viewed the scenery from the sky that I understood how accurate this is. The expression "Forty Shades of Green" became well-known thanks to Johnny Cash in his song of the same title following his trip to Ireland. After spending numerous holidays in West Cork, I've had ample opportunity to appreciate and admire this stunning scenery. Initially, I created an underpainting on my substrate to help me select my colour palette. After picking the papers I wanted from my collection of hand-painted papers, I began to collage them. With this process, sometimes one layer is enough and other times it takes several layers before the painting is finished."
