We Are Community
"I started this painting during the Disabilty: IN Conference in Las Vegas and finished it in my New York art studio. It’s one of three that I created while talking and connecting with the amazing crowd. It’s a special memory, and I wanted to capture the feeling with paint! Celebrating our uniqueness is vital, but it’s also important to remember we are each a living part of humanity. In this way, the pieces are similar but can still stand on their own. I really wanted to capture the complexity of being human and “the same” while also highlighting the original story we each have to share."
