Terroir
"My floral paintings encapsulate a profound personal journey, inspired by the transformative period of my life when I first became disabled. As my ability to walk dwindled and my energy waned, my world contracted to confines of my home and garden. In this newfound stillness, my garden emerged as a sanctuary of solace and rejuvenation. "Terroir" reflects the intimate connection I developed with the natural world around me. With almost meditative attention, I observed the dance of growth through each season. The burst of life, color, and texture within my garden became a source of endless fascination. this spawned an immersion in the vibrant, exuberant style of 'Pattern and Decoration.' This artistic style, known for its unapologetic embrace of color and decorative elements, became a means of expressing beauty and joy within my small world."
