"Above all else, even my geometric and abstract pictures are all landscapes. Usually, they are very much about the big sky. The grandeur of nature is just something that you can never get over. I recently moved across the city of DC to the waterfront side, and this is a view from my window. This was the very first one I did and I wanted to keep the feeling of the artist's brush. I love paintings where you could see the process and the brush and the immediacy of the capture of the moment. A lot of the challenge in this kind of painting just like as in watercolor is to not over paint. It takes a lot of restraint. I love orange, pink, and yellow so much, and blue. These are the colors of passion and warmth and blue for peacefulness. I'm always intoxicated by color. I do believe it's the main reason that I paint."
