Standing

"One of three of a short series of tall grasses. I was very surprised and really like these grasses as close-up subjects. They're one of the better examples of a thing I'm trying to do, look for, find—to discover interesting, magical and/or beautiful things that are just right there, that we pass by on our way to more obviously interesting things. My physical limitations often keep me kind of limited and the overarching thing with photos for me has been finding this kind of thing. They're not an obvious subject, really, but have amazing structure, light, textures, and hues. Things in motion move into abstract shapes and color variations. I also have been embarrassed more than once popping up out of tall grass and startling someone walking by. Even when I say I'm just taking photos, they've looked skeptical."
