She Wanted a Polka for Her Funeral

"The soft pink of this painting reads as a neutral, giving this piece a happy, calm feel, while the polka dots add whimsy. One of my common motifs is this sort of leaf and vine element. In this piece it pulls the two different parts of the composition together. I love pink! This piece makes me so happy. It is named for my grandmother, who loved polka music, and requested her favorite one at her funeral."
