Enchanted Forest
"This artwork, Enchanted Forest artwork, is part of a collection connected to the theme of sustainability. I incorporated textile waste from furniture production in New York City into this specific work. I did not know what to expect when the package of fabric waste arrived. It was fun to open the box and discover the textures of the fabric scraps. I started painting spontaneously. My gestural marks were influenced by the fatigue and pain that I felt. As I engaged in my meditative painting process — I began feeling enchanted. This joyful state of being fully captivated while painting was magical to me, because it made me temporarily forget about my pain and fatigue. As the composition emerged, it reminded me of an Enchanted Forest."
