Electric Field
"This piece was inspired by sights and surroundings at the time of completion--- emerald colored jewels, wild floral bouquets and lights. I was particularly observant of the reflection of light and the energetic field that radiates off beautiful objects. Underlying theme that connects all pieces of work: wheelchair track marks and swirls serve as powerful symbols reflecting the individual paths we each navigate throughout our existence. Just as the layers of our life experiences shape our identity, multiple coats of paint unveil the depth and history within each piece. The varied consistencies of poured paint foster organic interactions and reveal captivating imperfections. Water emerges as a prominent motif, embodying fluidity, liberation, and the art of release. The swirls guide the viewer on a journey, replicating the cyclical nature of life and existence. These cyclical patterns reflect the idea that "everything comes full circle," reinforcing the idea that after a healing/repair process, one's journey may return to its aspired state or born anew."
