"To create this piece I used acrylic paint, paper, crackle medium, coarse pumice gel, modeling paste, cut out pieces of canvas and a matte varnish. I named this piece Earthly Feels as over the past year I experienced a lot of difficulties and life changes that I had to work through along with a host of different feelings that accompanied these changes. I underwent 3 major surgeries in the past year and lost my husband to suicide. This prompted me to created a piece with different textures synonymous with the various feelings I experienced and colors that reminded me of the earth to represent life itself. I wanted the end result to exemplify our feelings while we are living on this earth. Some are hard, some smooth and some in between. No matter how hard or difficult one day or a period in our lives may seem it is temporary and the big picture overall is that life is precious and beautiful and better days and experiences are ahead of us."
