Earthquake Driver

"Exploring the use of sheet plastic as "paint" on a finished canvas painting produced this piece. It is a serene landscape, or a quiet, non-representational abstract. That is up to the viewer. The plastic inclusion is difficult to find, but also different enough from the painted area of the canvas to be noted, exactly as I am aiming for. It is important to me that the material be recognized as plastic, but only after a closer inspection. Melding my style of brushwork with an entirely different material was a challenge that I thoroughly enjoyed. Solving the "problem" is most of the reason I paint. The plastic has been fused to the canvas with heat, there is no glue."
