"The reference image was taken in my backyard during winter. I used prisms to refract light and reflect snow. The work is inspired by science fiction, climate change, seasons of life, and mortality. The process combines transparent watercolor, opaque gouache, and colored pencils. The multimedia approach lends a multitude of textures and layers, allowing me to play with space and focus."
