"Soft colors and soft lines are used in this contemporary landscape that presents a study of color blocks coexisting in vertical and horizontal strata. The color palette is inspired by the array of colors found in the earth, canyons, mesas, and skies of our Southwestern states. Techniques include both drawing and painting, anchored by mark making, layering, and the use of transparent washes to create some areas of soft watercolor effect."
