Beethoven Series Symphony No 5 in C minor Op 67: I Allegro con Brio
"The first movement of the four movements and the first painting of the series. This inspiration was the second of the four movements I have painted. I was truly amazed at how well the color choices I have established for this painting. I didn't dive in deciding what color to use. I intentionally went with the sound of the music and how it made me feel based on the colors I heard. Once again, I dove deep into the Prussian blue and started on the upper left corner of the painting and worked my way into the lighter areas. I wanted my viewers to understand the true impact that Beethoven was having when he created the 5th symphony. In historical context, it was said that he was wrestling with God. Light and dark. Here you can clearly see the light and dark merging with one another in chaos and harmony. I have very specifically made a point to add the most important piece instrument in this musical passage, the OBO. It is off center to your left of the deep cadmium red just before the orange and below the lemon yellow. This particular sound reminds us of how calm we can be when we are in tune with God. You'll also be aware of strong circles throughout the painting. Three short and one long."
