"This hard-edge piece is included in my 'White Line' series of artworks. The white lines are inspired by the works of Frank Stella, particularly his 1980s pieces. The colors are developed on a piece-by-piece basis, from individual color palettes that are dependent on how I envision the outcome.

'Whirlpool 2' is an iteration of 'Whirlpool 1' and by changing the color palette and rearranging some of the geometry, I was able to create a piece that sets itself apart from its predecessor. The colors and their placement suggest a sense of dimension when viewed from a distance."
