The Big Love Knot

"This knot was part of a series of 6. This is actually made from two lines if you break it down. Note how the space between the knot lines - the negative space - creates a yellow ring buried deep in the knot. From an original 1997 drawing. Starting with pencil lines, I used Indian ink to line the work. Then I added the webbing - the wee bits of dirt in each corner where lines cross. Then watercolor."
