"My focus for this watercolor was the astilbes when they were in full bloom and bringing a new dimension to the garden. The gentleness of the flowers as they swayed in soft breezes or stood tall during summer showers intrigued me. "Stillness" was painted using a selection of my photographs that captured the astilbes during different times of the day. Using watercolor as the medium allowed for illustrating the lightness and airiness displayed by these pretty flowers."
