"In this painting, trees bend across a ravine. I grew up playing in ravines and included a variety of loose and playful shapes across the canvas. I began with natural plant dyes, then began filling in larger spaces with thinned acrylic paints. The final layer of oil paint creates a contrasting opacity to mimic layers of leaves and branches."
