"These pieces followed "Shadow Box". I wanted to actively explore themes of office life within a regulated grid pattern, but using a grid that is rough around the edges and allows an intense red to show through beneath the rectangles and trapezoids. I had fun playing with spreadsheet and financial symbols as well as office objects. I also wanted to call into question the meaning of these everyday symbols and objects, how we may infuse them with meaning they don't, on their face, necessarily possess. Pie charts and spreadsheets in some ways operate as talismans in the business world."
