"The desire for belonging is universal, transcending cultural, racial, and traditional boundaries. By embracing diversity, we can cultivate a more inclusive and tolerant society. The metaphor of a round peg in a square hole resonates with many, underscoring the importance of accepting individuals for who they are, without prejudice based on skin color or faith. Each person has a place in our collective community. The use of indigenous designs in this context serves to link different groups, fostering a sense of connection and belonging. I used the braille word “belong” as an added element throughout painting."
