Heatwave Days & Firefly Nights
"On summer days so hot that the garden leaves wilt by mid-morning, even after a heavy watering at dawn, the drooping foliage hints at the humid nights to come. Have you ever seen hundreds of fireflies lighting up a pitch-black sky? They flicker and glow like sparks drifting from a great bonfire. Cicadas provide the soundtrack to these sweltering evenings, their songs weaving through the air as the soft “oouuhs” and “aahhss” of wonder drift from our lips. We stand in the backyard, mesmerized by the bioluminescent dance of fireflies, each flash a tiny celebration, evoking memories of joyful childhood summers."
