Charlie Davis was a beloved member of the ArtLifting community until his passing in 2021.
Charlie Davis made attention-grabbing work that may alter your expression or mood. Charlie was very expressive with his face and observant of other’s faces. He was deaf, so he used this expression and observation to communicate, observe, and reflect back.
Charlie was born and lived in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Esperanza Community Services, a space for individuals to create. His artistic inspirations included faces, circles, the sky, and loud noises like thunder and lightning. He loved collecting pop cans, making jewelry for friends, watching action movies, and working on puzzles.
Charlie was unable to work because of his disability. Selling prints through ArtLifting helped build his financial independence and brought him closer to accomplishing his money-management goals. Charlie took pride in hanging his own paintings at home and he would be just as proud to know you are doing the same.
ArtLifting champions artists impacted by disabilities and housing insecurity by connecting their art with socially-conscious customers . Learn more here.
