Trascinata

"Trascinata was made as part of my fall 2019 collection, Sommesso. Sommesso was conceived as a celebration of quiet moments, and the imagery was primarily inspired by the marshlands approaching the North Carolina Outer Banks. Trascinata shows a sweeping flat landscape in two contrasting color stories, with darker cool tones and bright, light warm tones. The wideness, sense of movement, and broad spread of hue and value force me to pause and experience a moment of quiet as I take it in. The title means swept or drawn, and the piece is an attempt to illustrate the sensation of being drawn into or swept away by a moment."
